Fired or Lost Your Job?

When someone is let go without just cause, they are entitled to compensation for the length of service and severance pay. An employer can avoid giving any money for the firing if they inform the worker ahead of time, referred to as reasonable notice. But there are situations where a worker may not be entitled to either kind of payment. However, it is often difficult to tell if these circumstances are applicable in your case. For example, did you quit your job voluntarily, or were you forced to quit? Often referred to as "constructive dismissal". Got questions? Want to know what you may be entitled to? Talk to a lawyer to find out how the law applies to you.
